Zwiazek Slaskich Rolnikow (ZSR) – Silesian Farmers’ Association

ZSR was founded in 1989 after political transformation in Poland. Firstly to the association belonged only farmers who descended from Germany. From 1997 every farmer living in the region where association works has a right to belong to it. The current number of membership is over 1.000 almost being farmers from the region. Silesian Farmers Association with co-operation with German counsellors has realised some big projects. On association’s initiative there have been established Counsellors Groups. The association helped also to farms afflicted with the flood in 1997. There has also been finished a project about re-cultivation meadows which were damaged during the flood. In March 1994 on ZSR initiative and with co-operation with German Farmers Society (DLG) there has been organised “Association’s Counselling” activity after the example of effective ones in west countries.
